SureStreamer –  Audio/Video/DAB Ensemble over Public Internet

 

The APT SureStreamer is a hardware variation of APT’s award winning SureStream technology. For customers who wish to benefit from the cost savings and reliability offered by SureStream but are not yet ready to invest in new Codec hardware, the APT SureStreamer is the perfect solution.

It can interface with most single port IP Codecs from any manufacturer enabling the use of easily affordable ADSL/DSL IP connections to deliver broadcast-grade Audio, Video and Data.

It continues to provide a seamless audio stream, even when one of the contributory links suffers a total Loss of Connection.

Using two separate internet connections, the APT SureStreamer allows broadcasters to send the same audio and data content over divergent paths for increased redundancy. Additionally, the sophisticated stream generation and resequencing engine of SureStream further increases the robustness and reliability of the connection.

Overall, the system ensures that one perfectly seamless, reconstructed stream is generated by the decoder to present to the 3rd party IP codec, achieving the reliability & audio quality you would expect from a synchronous (E1, X21, V35 etc…) circuit using easily affordable public internet connections or over main and reserve/backup point-to-point circuits.

SureStreamer Data-Node to reduce Telco costs

The studio streams only one pair of component streams into the remote data center, in the data center, the APT SureStreamer receives the program stream and multiplies it using Multicast or Multiple Unicast technology to multiple receiving sites. Using the APT SureStreamer as a node to migrate the Multicast function closer to the decoder significantly reduces the long haul Telco costs.

EDI Distribution for DAB Networks

For DAB applications, a DAB licence applied to the SureStreamer enables broadcasters to transport EDI data in addition to IP Audio enabling the replacement of dedicated internet/ethernet links and expensive EDI switches with more readily affordable public internet links (ADSL/DSL/FTTC etc.)
